Trot along to this show and discover your inner dog. Learn that there is no such thing as a Fake Nose. Matt Black is an acclaimed writer and performer. He was Derbyshire Poet Laureate from 2011 to 2013, and he often moves into witty and illuminating poetry during this show. He explores what it is like to be a dog (barking included), and he weaves into his show the most recent scientific research into dogs.
Matt’s show is the engaging story of a man who becomes a dog evangelist, believing that dogs have all the answers to a richer life as a human being, as well as the answer to world peace. Did the pack loyalty of wolves/dogs inspire human co-operation?
There is some audience involvement here – you will take part in a fun questionnaire. You will begin to have insight into what dogs are really like, their instincts and behaviour, as well as the uses human beings find for them. You will come away with some memorable lines of dog formation, some poems about creatures, and maybe even a stick to throw…
Among Matt’s achievements are performing in 50 venues in 5 hours on a tandem bicycle, inventing the world’s first Poetry Jukebox and creating the Fanti-Elastical ZingZong Poetry Imagination Machine. This show has been developed in partnership with dog behaviour researchers at the University of Liverpool.
Relax with this show, be informed and richly entertained, and maybe come out yapping with delight.
