Summerhall – The Terrace, Venue 26

Performs until August 25th, 21:40

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars)

2019 marks the third year that Darkfield have brought their unique skills to the Fringe, following the critically acclaimed success of “séance” and “flight” the team are back with “ Coma”.

Once again, the big white shipping container takes its place outside the Summerhall, and this experience is the most chilling ever, Imagine the moment of waking up is actually the moment when your dreams begin. In light of this new and strange reality, how can you be saved from the unspeakable horrors which lurk in the dark recesses of your mind? The only cure that Coma can offer is a placebo and a promise.

Coma is a deeply immersive experience and not for the faint of heart, lying in the cool pitch blackness as they tingle and move your remaining senses is a thrilling, chilling and ultimately stunning experience.

This is a 30-minute thrill ride whilst lying completely still and does make you question what you can’t see, but only smell and feel, its sensory deprivation in overload and it’s a finely crafted piece of immersive theatre.

COMA can lay claim to being the most unique production of the festival and its also a welcome break from the usual format of theatre watching, you don’t watch COMA, you experience it, the further your willing to let yourself go and embrace what’s happening around you, the more you will gain from the production.

As the performance ends and you re-enter the daylight, trying to make sense of what has just gone before is futile, you have to live in the moment, so why not enter the darkness of “COMA” yourself it will truly reshape your fringe.
