Chaos
Pleasance Courtyard

Sometimes things look so good in advance but do not live up to expectations. So it was here. The Pleasance has linked up with some writers from Finland and over a period initially of 3 years invited them to produce new work that can then be performed by UK theatre companies. This is one of the first productions written by Mika Myllyaho. However I just couldn’t get into it. A 36 year old  primary school teacher was finding things going wrong with her life and with two unlikely friends tries to sort them out.  However while the actors had clear ability I wondered why they were wasting their time on what I found to be superficial mush about boring lives, and that’s one of the kinder comments I wrote when seeing this show.

Perhaps it all went over my head. It was certainly a story about chaotic life which was not helped by having things projected back to front onto a screen. Did this perhaps have a deeper meaning? To be honest, I don’t care.

Perhaps you will like it more than I did.
